The Jet Orientation Programme is designed for aspiring pilots and pilots transitioning from smaller aircraft into commercial jet operations, as well as anyone who wants a deeper understanding of how a high-performance jet is operated.
No previous Boeing 737 experience is required, as the programme introduces the aircraft environment and jet-handling concepts in a structured and practical way.
-
The programme introduces you to the key differences between general aviation aircraft and commercial jets, before taking that knowledge into the Boeing 737 simulator.
You will explore areas such as cockpit familiarisation, aircraft systems, take-off and climb, jet handling, cruise, approach and landing, with guidance from your instructor throughout the session.
-
No. The programme is specifically designed to introduce participants to the commercial jet environment, making it suitable for pilots who may be coming from general aviation or smaller aircraft.
The level of guidance can be adapted to your existing flying experience, allowing you to build familiarity and confidence at an appropriate pace.
-
Commercial jets operate very differently from smaller general aviation aircraft, particularly in areas such as power management, aircraft performance, speed control, automation and cockpit procedures.
The Jet Orientation Programme gives you the opportunity to experience these differences first-hand in the Boeing 737 simulator while an instructor explains how they affect the way the aircraft is flown.
-
No. The Jet Orientation Programme is an orientation and familiarisation programme and does not replace formal flight training, a Boeing 737 type rating, or any qualification issued by an aviation authority.
Its purpose is to give you practical exposure to the commercial jet environment and help build your understanding before progressing further in your aviation journey.
-
The Jet Orientation Programme focuses on learning and becoming familiar with commercial jet operations, making it ideal for pilots who want to understand the transition from smaller aircraft into a Boeing 737 environment.
Airline Preparation is more specifically aimed at pilots with Jet Aircraft flying experience preparing for an upcoming airline simulator assessment or selection process.
