Once licenced, you’ll fly without the aid of a Flight Experience Instructor. You’ll be able to fly your friends, family or work colleagues to over 24,000 destinations around the world. You will be trained in all aspects of flying our Boeing 737NG Flight Simulator, following a process similar to gaining a real pilot’s licence for a fraction of the cost!
1. First Solo – Circuits
Once approved, members will be capable of flying Circuits. This enables members to taxi, take-off, fly circuits and land at suitable airports anywhere in the world that is capable of operating the 737. This is great for sightseeing and honing your skills.
Time required: Approximately 6 hours in total (5 hours of training and a 1 hour flight test)
2. Sector Endorsement
This is a prerequisite for phase 3 (Flying Club Licence – Sectors). The Sector Endorsement involves pre-flight, engine start-up and shutdown procedures from a Cold State (when the aircraft is turned off), including how to programme the FMC (Flight Management Computer).
Time required: Approximately 4 hours in total (3 hours of training and a 1 hour flight test)
3. Flying Club Licence – Sectors
Once approved, members will be capable of flying Sectors. This enables members to fly a City-to City sector flight solo, using the replica Boeing 737 Navigation system and automation. This is the ultimate way to be the captain of a typical airline flight.
Time required: Approximately 7 hours in total (6 hours of training and a 1 hour flight test)
Flying Club is for those who want to go beyond simply experiencing the simulator and actually learn how to fly it with confidence. Through structured 1-to-1 sessions, you will work towards clear milestones, develop real cockpit knowledge and progressively take on more responsibility in the captain’s seat.
As your skills grow, you can work towards achievements such as your First Solo, Sector Endorsement and Flying Club Licence.
Reaching these milestones means greater independence in the simulator, including the opportunity to take command of the flight while a friend or family member joins you as co-pilot, with your instructor supporting from the rear.
The regular Boeing 737 Experience is designed as a one-time opportunity to enjoy the thrill of flying, while Flying Club follows a structured learning pathway across multiple 60-minute sessions.
Each session is a guided 1-to-1 lesson with an instructor and follows the Flying Club curriculum, with participants working through specific skills and milestones at their own pace. As you progress through the programme, you will develop your knowledge of cockpit procedures, flight planning and aircraft handling, with the goal of becoming more confident and independent in the simulator.
Yes. If you would like to experience the simulator first, you can book any of our regular Boeing 737 Experiences before joining Flying Club. This gives you the chance to take the captain’s seat, get comfortable with the controls and see whether you would like to continue learning.
If you are considering Flying Club, let your instructor know during your session. They can explain how the programme differs from a regular experience, walk you through the learning structure and milestones, and help you decide whether it is the right next step for you.
To join Flying Club, purchase a membership together with either a four-session or six-session pack.
Each session is a 60-minute, 1-to-1 lesson guided by a professional pilot, following the Flying Club curriculum and milestones at your own pace. Your session-pack code can be used to book your preferred lesson dates, and additional sessions can be purchased as you continue progressing through the programme.
Both. Flying Club follows a structured learning pathway, but every session is adapted to your existing knowledge, confidence and goals. Your instructor will guide you through suitable topics and flying scenarios as you progress, from basic aircraft handling and circuits to cockpit procedures, flight planning, approaches and emergency situations.
You will start with the fundamentals of controlling the aircraft, taxiing, take-off, flying circuits and landing. As your skills develop, you can work towards your first solo circuit in the simulator, before progressing to more advanced topics such as route planning, aircraft procedures and flight management.
The programme estimates around six hours of training to reach the First Solo, Circuits stage, including a flight assessment.
From there, members can progress towards Sector Endorsement, learning aircraft start-up and shutdown procedures, flight planning and flight-management systems, with the goal of eventually flying a complete city-to-city sector more independently.
Progress varies depending on each participant’s ability, confidence and frequency of lessons.
No. The Flying Club Licence is not a professional pilot licence and does not replace formal flight training or any qualification issued by an aviation authority. Instead, it recognises that you have completed the required Flying Club milestones and can operate the Boeing 737 simulator with greater independence within the Flight Experience programme.
Once you have earned your licence, you can take command of the flight from the captain’s seat, with a friend or family member joining you as your co-pilot. Your instructor will remain seated at the rear to operate the simulator and provide support whenever needed.
Your Flying Club membership and session packs are valid for six months. To stay current and get the most out of your training, we recommend attending your lessons regularly so you can retain your skills and progress consistently through the programme.
If you need more time to complete your sessions, please speak with our team before the expiry date and we’ll advise you on the available options.
You can buy a new session or redeem a Flight Pack voucher code. If you have a voucher code, simply add the code when prompted during the checkout process.
